Pam Dunning is a 200 hour RYT. She trained under Melanie Burns at the Baptiste affiliate studio, Wicked Good Yoga in Wiscasset, Maine. She has trained in Yin and Baptiste style Hot Power forms of practice. She has further trained at Baptiste Level One Journey Into Power and Art of Assisting.
In 2006, Pam suffered torn tendons, two joint dislocations and multiple broken bones due to a fall. She found herself unable to pursue her practices of running and hiking. In the next several years she continued to lose muscle density and to gain weight. Corrective surgery helped but did not alleviate the pain and discomfort.
Then Pam found yoga; first in slow flow vinyasa, then Yin and finally in Baptiste hot power. In less than a year Pam lost almost fifty pounds and regained a great deal of movement and muscle density. She is as active now as she was before her accident. If this were all it would be great but, Pam found more. She found a patience that she did not know existed within her, the ability to focus her attention on a goal and follow it to its conclusion, a balance between her mind, body and spirit, and a deep need to help others and to teach them all of the beauty inherent in the incredibly giving community of yoga.
Pam has built her skill in public service through her twenty-four years at Wiscasset Public Library and her six years on the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen. She cares deeply for her community and the individuals who have graced her life with their presence.
Through all of this Pam learned that Yoga heals! The practices of yoga are so diverse that they are accessible to every age, body type and personality. Pam’s focus is to help others find this path to health and wellness and joy in life.
